I've got big news today. Well ok it's been already about a week or so since I released the picture but I couldn't find the time to do a blog entry, so here it goes: my first mammoth work is DONE!!!!! :D

So I'll lift the mystery about this one a bit:
I did this piece for MandragorA ScreaM's „Rainbow Seeker“ from the Album „A whisper of dew“ ... I love this album to pieces, it's one of my all time faves in my music collection ♥ I can still see myself sitting in that street in town while my dad is at the dentist's, having the CD in my discman and listening to it for the first time ... ♥ That album brought me to this incredible band =)
So I had a concept for a drawing to that song in my mind for a few years now, but never quite got a concrete „vision“ on how it should look. But anyway I then decided in the end of last year to grab a pencil, sketch around a bit and then start with that thing, just to see what would come out … well, and here we are :)

The gold idea came in later, also since I didn't quite know what to do with the borders when I started it all ... And since I simply love pencil pictures combined with gold and got inspired on deviant art, I thought why not try this myself :)
And also this piece now definitely won't be the last one for that album. I will try to, piece by piece, make all 12 songs into drawings like these and an artbook out of it. Already working on an idea for the 2nd one ;) Got the OK from my inspiration source and maybe we'll even work together in some way in this matter :) But I'll let you know more when the time should have come. I'm also already working on the design of my artbook:
Not gonna make it any larger and won't reveal very much more about it, but this is gonna be sort of the way it'll look like in the end :) I'll also try to do a poem or so to each picture to create more atmosphere :) Time will tell. Just wanted to make you curious already.
I've also been out recently shooting some architectural reference photos :) Probably need to go again since I apparently haven't got what I needed for my next work but there were a few useful shots I will probably use for some of the remaining 10 songs :)
Aaand - as if this wouldn't be enough already, I'm working on a 2nd vampire novel cover! :) The book will be out this spring, I will let you know where you can get it :)
