Slowly coming back on track.

Hello me hearties =)

It's been a long time since I wrote last, hasn't it? Actually there wasn't much to blabber about but I thought today I should do an entry again :)

First of all I'm sorry - my web site still isn't fixed, the server guy has no idea what is wrong... we'll put up a backup now and hope the loss is as little as possible :/

And the other thing is - There lately has been this daily deviation on deviant art that reminded me of a story idea I had already forgotten... just because it portrays the main character so perfectly :D So I digged it out again now and am working on it more or less. I originally wanted to do it as a manga, I'm trying that now. If it doesn't work I'm gonna pull it up as a story. The content is a classical "geek becomes hero" story ^_^ Yet I think it's kinda lovely and there's something that wants out of my head. Won't reveal any details and no title but I'll keep you up to date =)

Which leads me to the next point. I yesterday (or was it the day before?) thought ok, go to youtube and take a listen to that new Amberian Dawn singer. And what happened? Little Ala got blown off her chair. Expected everything but not that. In a positive way. Because I never liked Heidi's voice in the first place, I think it somehow has a lack of emotion ... but the new stuff is so awesome :D But see yourself:

I just have that thing for bombastic stuff.. the more bombast the better xD This is perfect :D 

As for this song - I think this is one of the most beautiful pieces ever written right after Mandragora Scream's Frozen Space and Sleeping sun. <3

 

So ... yeah x) Everything slowly starts to go its old way again. I had an artist's block until 2 days ago but seems my creativity is back from vacation now and I can continue. 

As for now I'm gonna go to bed *yawns* I wish you all a wonderful rest of week and see you next time =)

You probably think I've disappeared, don't you? x) Don't worry, you've still got me on the cheek. There's just not much to babble about these days. 

I atm just am busy considering what I'd like to do in the future because I need a job so or so somewhen soon, art isn't throwing off enough or anything at all ... This brought me to a childhood dream of mine since I'm a rock collector and geology freak ever since I can think ... I'm now trying to somehow get access and prepare myself to maybe study earth siences if they let me and if I can get all the knowledge of maths, physics and chemistry into my head that I need for this... I just so WANNA do this o_ô There's no moment passing by where I don't catch myself reading something about minerals or other stuff. So I guess it's the right way I chose.

And the other thing - I've got FAST! (Yes, REALLY fast. Exept for uploads T_T) internet now! I've never dared to dream of this that one day even here in the wilderness there could be a fast connection... I just need to figure out now how to connect the phone to all the box stuff under the table and get it working ... and to get the upstream a bit faster..

So. Yeah. Much stuff around my head for now.

Ah btw don't be scared if you enter my web page, there's something really wrong with the database and I poked my server guy already for the 2nd time to get it fixed so ... I can only wait, I'm sorry for any inconvenience :-/

.. just wanted to send a life sign ^_^

I'm not much of a productive person at the moment but am dragging myself to do something since I lately got 2 (!) commissions! :D

The one is a family portrait for our insurance guy and the other one the drawing of the sister of one of my best friends x)

Besides that I'm around the www trying to find a pair of pants for a Vala Mal Doran cosplay (Nah actually it's gonna be a quite bad impersonation since I haven't the money to sew me a real costume and haven't got the figure to wear something like that anyway ^^ but I do my best to get the look) ... Why? Well.... point 1 - I'm a biiiiig stargate geek xD and 2 - I'm going to FedCon with my boss :D Still can't believe it somewhat since there'll be people I wanted to see for so long now... we'll see what comes. I'm so happy I could die :D :D (And I need to go to the hairdresser to finally get me my blonde strands I wanted to have for so long... ^_^) Lalala ^_^

So... yeah, just wanted to say I'm still here even if I'm quiet for the moment x) I'll keep you informed x) Perhaps, when my pants have arrived someday I'll do a photo for you :D

I'm also gonna upload the one or another WIP of my commission soon, so stay tuned :)

How are you all doing?

I've recovered again from a malware attack on my pc, it's all clean again now and runs perfectly ... this also gave me a chance to throw off some very old stuff to finally have space here for my big fat art folder :D It now has a complete partition for itself x) 

And the other thing: Whas lasts long will become good in the end - the portrait I've been working on for the last 9 or so weeks is finally done! :D

Derwent 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 9B and mechanical pencil on A3 Fabriano Accademia 200g/m² (94 lbs) paper - and a big fat Thank You to the owner of this wonderful photo x) He liked it more than I ever dared to dream. <3

I've also been working again on my video project... we don't have that much snow here at the moment but the mountains were white so I filmed a little on my way to the groceries. Hope I'll finish this someday ^_^°

How are you all doing?

I solved the twitter problem I think. No login problems anymore and no suspicious tweets.. I think I'm rid of the hacking moron. 

So... I've been very busy the last days. Either I was working on my portrait or - as tonight - on a painting for my sister's living room. But one thing after the other. First I've got some WIP's for you x) There's not much left now until this piece is finished and I can send out a surprise x)

That shirt is hell to shade ... but anyway. I will end this piece and be it the last thing I do xD Still I'm nervous about doing the hair cause it is kinda unsharp and the light from behind is irritating since I'm leaving that christmas tree out that would be behind him... -.- We'll see.

And now to the commission x) First the WIP's and then the finished piece. I kicked this through in about 4 - 4 1/2 hours just because I felt like it...

And now the final result x)

I could have gone so much more into detail but I decided to leave it plain and simple cause everything else would just have looked displaced.

First of all - please everyone who's following me on twitter have an eye on their accounts because it seems mine has been hacked overnight ... -.-° Suddenly followed 30 more people than I did and received arabic tweets ... not good. I now changed the password but have login problems... contacted the support and have to wait now what happens. Don't wanna reset my password for every login.

So... yeah. Not everything good I guess. 

But I still have some good stuff for you. I'm dragging myself to do at least a few lines every night now to get that damn portrait finished... something in my head tells me that this piece is important... o_ô And I usually listen to my inner voice. So here's a few current WIP's for you =)

There's more details to do than I first thought... this will take more time than expected. But I love it already now :) 

Aaand the other thing ... you know that for sure - you've got a song in your head where you only remember a few words or lines and you're searching for it for ages without finding it, even google doesn't spit out anything useful. This is what I had the last weeks. I heard this song last time soooo many years ago and only had the chorus in my mind... lately then on a radio station my parents are hearing there was this crappy german cover version of it and this led me to that original song I was looking for so long ... finally :D I thought I share it with you, maybe the one or another is looking for it too. I dunno but I just love it, maybe it's because I have this thing for italian pronounciation, though the song is in spanish. :)

Hello me hearties =)

As you maybe all see I re-designed my layout again... ^_^° This has the simple reason that I lately discovered this wonderful pattern and that I no longer want to relate to a theme I've quit with and that represented my style for a long time. Hope you all like the new style x) (Though I've no idea how to cope with that white writing at the sides cause I don't wanna make it red T_T) I will also adjust the sidebars a bit so that it looks all more homogenous. 

And for everything else ... I've been working on my current portrait again last night x) Here's some WIP's for you =)

The first time ever I'm drawing an almost shirtless guy *giggles* ^_^ I'm really positively surprised how well this works. Thought I'd have more problems with shading and stuff. But all these details are killing me -.- I'm glad when this piece is finished.

So... yeah. I think I'm gonna continue later then x) I wanna send a jpg out... xD For now I'll adjust the sidebars and then see what I'll do =)

First of all - a happy belated new year to you all! =) May you stay healthy and may all your wishes and resolutions come true.

So what have I been doing the last days? I've been working like a madwoman. First stitching together my bosse's homepage http://www.rattendesign.de ... then doing a helluva lot of laundry and get somet stuff out of my cupboard that I am not wearing anymore / doesn't fit anymore ... Stuffing my concert gallery on my own website with a ton of Nightwish concert pics from ago 2 years ... I'm still not finished with this but my internet is almost over limit so I fear I have to continue next month -.-

Hm yeah and now I finished another painting which I had begun last year. xD Slowly the air is getting lighter again and work less. Here's the pic =)

Next thing on schedule - get forward with that portrait. And plan out a color pencil drawing I wanna do because I found an awesome reference photo which I wanna make something of... We'll see.
